Short reason: Old host bad, new host good. I think. Anyone who'd like to help me test this, please go hack away at the site's interactive bits. Leave snarky comments, lowball or highball ratings, look at it on an Amiga using a Netscape browser.
Somewhat on that note: This calvacade of computer based errors really has eaten my time, to the point where I haven't even kept up my correspondence. If you've emailed me or left a comment here and I haven't gotten back to you, that's why. But if you've left a comment on WCN? I NEVER SAW IT. Please go try it on the other site, or just email me here, and I apologize on behalf of the old site's spazziness.
Right, here's the deal: I can't make pictures appear on my WCN account, or indeed on any of the WCN sites. I can't seem to contact anyone who is capable of helping me. This is happening to everything, even stuff that's been visible there for months. And apparently this is happening to a lot of folks, not just me. On top of everything else WCN has put me through, I'm spending more time snarling at the computer than actually drawing this month. Ungood.
So I've moved/am moving everything over to the Smackjeeves host site (Skyfall is up in full, but the other strips' backlogs are still being put up. Because I am still on dialup). So far, I am in love with this site.It makes the comic-managing project easier, encourages my pathetic neophyte attempts to learn HTML, and allows for lengthy unmangled newsposts. I expect the honeymoon period will eventually end, but for now it's all muffin baskets and rainbow kisses.
And yes, I've changed the name on almost everything, both for the reasons listed on the first newsposts and to help shake off the curse of the WCN. But not anecdata, because dangit, that's a good name and I am keeping it.
Anyway, now that things are running so smoothly, I hope to get back on board with the art challenges and whatnot. And if you've sent me a private message, and I haven't replied in a week or so? Please send again, because many things have been lost in the great computing doom of '08. Thanks.
